May 20th was the final due date for all BMS library books.

Library books not returned to the library by the final due date are marked lost.

Lost book fees for eighth grade students have been transferred to our bookkeeper. Emails have been sent to parents & students. If the lost book is located, please return it to the library. If the book is lost, please pay the lost book fee as soon as possible.

Sixth and seventh grade BMS parents and students may pay for lost books in the library with cash or check until June 3rd.  Lost book fees left unpaid will be transferred to our school fee system after June 3rd

8th Grade Promotion Information

The 2016 promotion ceremony will be held in the Blythewood Middle School gym.  The ceremony will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. on June 3, 2016.  All participating/eligible eighth graders are to report to their homeroom and will then line up in the cafeteria at 8:00 a.m.  The doors will be opened to the guests for seating as early as 7:30 a.m.
Seating will be limited this year, as the seating capacity of the gymnasium is 1900.  This includes students, teachers, and guests.
Students participating in promotion exercises are expected to wear attire for the occasion that is in regulation with the school’s dress code.   Students who are not appropriately attired will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.  Girls may wear a dress, slacks or skirt and top.  No shirts or dresses revealing the back should be worn without a sweater or shrug.  This includes:  tank tops, spaghetti straps, halter tops or sun/backless dresses.  Please do not allow your daughter to wear formal attire for this occasion.  Boys may wear slacks with a shirt and tie, slacks and a shirt with a collar, or a suit.  Please do not allow your son to wear a hat, sagging pants or formal attire.  Please note that all fees must be paid prior to participating in the promotion ceremony.  The last fee payment will be June 2, 2016.
Students will recess to the gym parking area following the promotion ceremony.  At that time, your son or daughter may leave with you.  We know that you want to spend time congratulating your graduate, but keep in mind that at 10:45 a.m., the remainder of the school population will be dismissed which may make it difficult for you to leave campus.  In case of
rain, we will recess to the cafeteria.  Final report cards for 8th grade students will be distributed Thursday, June 2nd.

Don't forget to pick up Medication in the Health Room...

From the Health Room:
Medications are not kept in the Health Room over the summer.  All medications not picked up from the Health Room by 3:00 on Friday, June 3rd will be discarded.  We cannot give controlled substances such as Ritalin, Adderall, etc. to students to take home.  The parent or guardian must pick up these medications.  Over the counter medications (such as Tylenol) and inhalers can be transported home by students.  Please contact Beth Gladden, R.N. at 691-6850, ext. 85410 if you have any questions or concerns.
