Interim 1 Q1...

Greetings Charger Families,

Our first interim report for the 2019-2020 school year will be sent home on Thursday, September 19.  Please note that  the first interim of the school year will be a paper copy.  All future interims will be available via Parent Portal.  

Student Led Conferences will be held at the dissemination of our 2nd interim for the 1st nine weeks, October 15th and October 16th from 3:30 - 6:30 both days.  Parents will be able to sign up for conferences the week of September 30th.  During our Student Led Conferences, students will receive their 2nd interim of the nine weeks and be able to discuss their grades and classes thus far and talk about their goals for the school year.  Students will also have a copy of their 2018-19 SC Ready and SC PASS scores; as well as a copy of the 2019-20 Fall MAP scores.  

If you desire a conference with a teacher prior to Student Led Conferences in October, please feel free to contact our school counseling department to schedule a meeting.

8th Grade Students and Parents ~ PSAT Information...

Good Afternoon 8^th grade Students and Parents:

Eighth grade students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT during school on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at BMS. The cost to take the PSAT is $17.00 and the deadline to register for the test is October 02, 2019. If your child qualifies for free lunch there will be no cost to take the test. If your child qualifies for reduced lunch the cost will be $10.20. Please make checks payable to Blythewood Middle School or you can pay online in Parent Portal. Students are automatically registered to take the PSAT once payment has been received.  Students who receive free lunch should contact your School Counselor Mrs. Xyreese Trapp.   

 We will be offering a PSAT workshop on our first Early Release day, September 27 from 10:45 am to 12:00 pm. Parents must ensure their child has transportation in order to attend this workshop.   Students must be picked up promptly by 12:00 p.m. or they may attend our Charger Pride aftercare service for a daily rate of $15.  The deadline to register is Sept. 20 and registration forms are available in the counseling department office.   

 We will have an additional workshop during 8th grade enrichment periods on October 8. No registration is needed for the Oct. 8th workshop.  Students will also learn test taking strategies during 8th grade advisory prior to the PSAT.

Honors Art Club...

"Attention all artists! Are interested in improving your skills? Learning new techniques? Or do you need time to focus on your work? Honors Art After School starts this month. Meetings will be on Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30. All artists are welcome, but you must fill out a form to join. Stop by the Art Room and ask Mrs. Atkins how to sign-up."

8th Grade Field Study...

Attention 8th Grade Parents:

We are Disney bound!!!! The 8th Grade field study will be April 9-11, 2020. The information was sent home on Tuesday, September 10th. We also have a link to the information on our website.
