BMS Stomps Out Bullying

A Note from the Principal:

Dear Parents/Guardians,

National Bullying Month is in October and while Blythewood Middle School will continue to address bullying in October and throughout the school year, our goal is to Stomp Out Bullying daily!  As a result, we will have our first, all inclusive bullying presentation to our students tomorrow, Friday, September 4th.  During our presentation, students will follow a BOLT - Blythewood’s Own Lifeskills Training - Schedule as we address bullying in all aspects:  verbal, physical, cyber, etc…

Harassment, intimidation or bullying, as defined by the Richland Two
Board Policies, is a gesture, electronic communication or a written,
verbal, physical or sexual act reasonably perceived to have the effect
of either of the following:  harming a student physically or emotionally or
damaging a student’s property, or placing a student in reasonable fear
of personal harm or property damage; or insulting or demeaning a student
or group of students causing substantial disruption in, or substantial
interference with, the orderly operation of the school.
Please note, Richland School District Two takes bullying seriously and strives to provide a safe, positive environment for each of its more than 24,000 students. If you suspect your child is being bullied, please contact the student's teacher or school administration. Reports can also be made 24 hours a day through the Safe School line, 803.736.8756.

Please talk to your child(ren) about the bullying presentation shared on behalf of the Blythewood Middle School Administrative team and School Counselors. As always, your child’s safety and well-being is very important to us!
