BMS STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN WESTWOOD HIGH SCHOOL’S STEAM EXPO

A group of Blythewood Middle School students from Mr. Hoffman's Engineering Exploration's class had the opportunity to participate in the STEAM Expo held Thursday, April 7th at Westwood High School. This event was co-hosted by the Columbia Urban League in partnership with Westwood High School’s Institute of Research, Engagement, and Design (iRED). The purpose of the STEAM Expo is to increase awareness among middle school students about the importance of excelling in STEAM courses, to expose them to STEAM careers and to introduce them to STEAM professionals who can serve as mentors, and demonstrate that STEAM can be fun! The Expo featured a combination of displays, interactive exhibits, and inquiry-based activities designed with middle school students in mind.
