BHS AVID Applications for Rising 9th Graders...
Blythewood High School's 2020-2021 AVID application is now open until January 31, 2020 @ 11:59pm for rising 9th graders who are zoned for BHS and would like to apply for AVID.
8th Grade IGP Meetings...
Attention 8th-grade parents:
All 8th-grade students will create an Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) and present it during a student-led IGP conference session. These will take place during the months of January and February.
Letters will be mailed home prior to and during winter break with students' appointment dates/times. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend.
Students will be working on their presentations during career class guidance time in their ELA classes and during Advisory.
We look forward to seeing their presentations!

Interim Report #2 Quarter 2...
Please be reminded that our first interim report for the 2019-2020 year was sent home as paper copy. Parents are reminded that all other interim reports at Blythewood Middle School will be accessible via Parent Portal (paper copies will not be printed).
The second interim of the 2nd Nine Weeks is now available for parent review. Report Cards will be issued on January 23rd.
It is important to monitor your child’s grades through Parent Portal before report cards are issued. If you note that grades are not being updated regularly please contact the appropriate grade-level administrator, counselor or Mrs. Mazyck.
If you have an Active Parent Portal account you may check your child’s grades each week. When you log into your account, the grades will automatically appear on the screen. There is not a “report” tab to click on in Parent Portal.

Junior Scholars – the Scores Are In!
Congratulations to our South Carolina Junior Scholars! To become a Junior Scholar, a student must
· Score a 550 or higher on the Evidence Based Reading and Writing Section or a 530 or higher score on the Math section of the PSAT/NMSQT.
· Duke TIP participants who were identified and recognized at either the Grand Recognition Ceremony or the State Recognition Ceremony, during their 7th grade year, automatically qualify to become a 2019-20 SC Junior Scholar.

BMS is hosting 2 Spirit Nights...
Greeting Charger Families,
Blythewood Middle School will be hosting two Spirit Nights next Thursday, November 21st, one at Surge Adventure Park from 3:30 - 7:30 and Chic-Fil-A on Killian Road from 5:00 - 8:00.
At Surge, students will be able to jump for $13.95/hour (they must have jump socks or purchase them upon their arrival). Students 6 and under can jump for $7.99/hour.
Please join us for dinner at Chic-Fil-A between 5:00-8:00 and mention Blythewood Middle School so that we can get the credit.
Finally, please note that in order for students to be able to jump, a waiver MUST be signed.
