 The Columbia International Festival is looking for artwork. Art submissions must reflect the theme: "Exploring Europe." Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place. Artwork must be given to Mrs. Atkins by Friday, March 8th.

Columbia Fireflies Reading Program...


Columbia Fireflies Reading Program

Our reading program will run from January 22nd to March 20th.  
Students need to “round the bases” by reading 1 book per base, for a total of 4 books within the 8 weeks. Students may read any grade level appropriate books.  
Students who read 4 books between January 22nd- March 20th will receive a form for a free ticket, some free concessions and a bonus prize at the game. If needed, you may order additional tickets on the form. Students will receive the order form when they turn in their completed reading log by March 20th and the forms need to be sent directly to the Fireflies by March 25th. You will receive the tickets in the mail at your home address.

Our game is on Sunday, May 5th at 2:05pm.

Students may pick up a reading log in the library.

March Teen Center Programs...

The Teen Center (ages 12 to 18) at Richland Library Main (1431 Assembly Street Columbia, SC 29201) is very excited to share a few upcoming March programs! We would love for you to share this information with your students!

Need access to tutoring and brain fuel to get you through the semester? Find homework help and resources Sundays in the Teen Center. Connect with tutors, use laptops, grab some snacks and more!
Every Sunday 3:00-5:00 p.m.

Teen Advisory Board is a volunteer organization for young people ages 12 to 18.  Teen volunteers help library staff plan and promote programs and services for our community, all while earning volunteer hours.  TAB serves as the voice of Richland County teens - are you ready to be heard? Please stop by the Teen Center for an application.
Next meeting is Saturday, March 2 at 3 p.m.

Interim Report 3 #1

Please be reminded that our first interim report for the 2018-2019 year was sent home as paper copy.  Parents are reminded that all other interim reports at Blythewood Middle School will be accessible via Parent Portal (paper copies will not be printed).  

The first interim of the 3rd Nine Weeks will be available for parent review via Parent Portal.  Report Cards will be issued on Thursday, February 14, 2019.


If you have an Active Parent Portal account you may check your child’s grades each week.  When you log into your account, the grades will automatically appear on the screen.  There is not a “report” tab to click on in Parent Portal.

It is important to monitor your child’s grades through Parent Portal before report cards are issued.  If you note that grades are not being updated regularly please contact the appropriate grade-level administrator, counselor or Mrs. Mazyck.
