BMS is hosting 2 Spirit Nights...
Greeting Charger Families,
Blythewood Middle School will be hosting two Spirit Nights next Thursday, November 21st, one at Surge Adventure Park from 3:30 - 7:30 and Chic-Fil-A on Killian Road from 5:00 - 8:00.
At Surge, students will be able to jump for $13.95/hour (they must have jump socks or purchase them upon their arrival). Students 6 and under can jump for $7.99/hour.
Please join us for dinner at Chic-Fil-A between 5:00-8:00 and mention Blythewood Middle School so that we can get the credit.
Finally, please note that in order for students to be able to jump, a waiver MUST be signed.
Everyone must complete a waiver before entering the activity area at Surge. Please click the link below and enter our Jump ID into the waiver form. Entering the Jump ID into your waiver form will speed up check in! THe Jump ID is: 62642

BMS PTO Fundraiser - Day of Awesomeness...
To celebrate the BMS PTO fundraiser success, the Day of Awesomeness will be taking place at BMS on Monday, Nov. 18, at the following times by grade level:
6th: 8-9:30
7th: 10:11 - 11:40
8th: 12:55 - 2:25
Students invited to participate in the celebration are those that sent out at least 10 email/text messages in attempt to raise money, with almost 300 students participating. All fundraising rewards will be distributed on Monday at the event. Please direct any fundraising questions to BMSPTO@yahoo.com
Snow cones will be on sale for $2 at the event Reminder to dress properly for outdoor play (sneakers, pants, etc.)

Interim #1 Quarter 2 is available today...
The first interim of the 2nd Nine Weeks will be available for parent review on Thursday, November 14th. The 2nd interim will be available on December 17th.
It is important to monitor your child’s grades through Parent Portal before report cards are issued. If you note that grades are not being updated regularly please contact the appropriate grade-level administrator, counselor or Mrs. Mazyck.
If you have an Active Parent Portal account you may check your child’s grades each week. When you log into your account, the grades will automatically appear on the screen. There is not a “report” tab to click on in Parent Portal.

Peace Poster Winners 2019...
Every year the Lion’s Club International sponsors a poster contest asking kids to envision a peace filled world. This year’s theme, “A Journey of Peace,” inspired several BMS artist to create outstanding work. Here are the top artworks from participants this year.”
Desirea Staples’ poster took first place and will move on to the district competition. Additionally, Veronique Smith’s poster won first place as the BMS Choice award. Congrats to these amazing artists.

BHS Blue Legion Winterguard...
On November 11th, 12th, and 14th (4:30pm-6:30pm), the Blythewood High School BLUE LEGION Winterguard will hold winterguard auditions. The winterguard is a competitive visual ensemble that dances and spins and tosses flags, rifles, and sabres. Competitions take place in gymnasiums around the state during the months of January through March.
No experience is necessary to audition, but having dance experience is a plus. Simply report to the Blythewood High School atrium on the audition days in athletic attire. Auditions are open to ladies AND gentlemen. Come be a part of the award-winning Blythewood High School BLUE LEGION Winterguard!!!

BMS is excited to have the opportunity to invite you to our annual BMS Veteran's Day Assembly on Monday, November 11th at 8:00 AM in our gym. We want to recognize you for your willingness to serve our country in the Armed Forces. Please take a moment and RSVP by completing this form with your name and military branch. Whether you are a member of our Blythewood community or you have a child here at BMS we are honored to have you join us. We have a light breakfast for you and your family to enjoy prior to the ceremony beginning at 7:15 AM in the Media Center.
