BMS School Wide Read...
Blythewood Middle is pleased to announce that we will be hosting our annual School Wide Read on Thursday, March 12, 2020. We hope that you will be able to join us as a guest reader. This year we will be reading picture books about Perseverance. There will be a selection of books for you to choose from or you are welcome to bring your own. BMS PTO Fundraiser - Day of Awesomeness Volunteers needed...
The Day of Awesomeness fundraiser reward day has been rescheduled for Monday, March 16, during enrichment classes for each grade level. MANY volunteers are needed to make this day a success. Please consider helping to supervise this very fun event. We will have lists of students eligible to participate posted on the PTO bulletin board by the Media Center by next Friday. The application window for the BHS Honors Forum is open for zoned BHS students.
The Blythewood High School Honors Forum is a unique program designed for serious and academically motivated students who wish to challenge themselves with rigorous coursework taught by expert faculty. Detailed information about the program and an application for the program can be located on the Blythewood High School website (www.richland2.org/bh) and each student wishing to apply needs to complete the application and submit it by February 28, 2020. Parents can also contact Scott Auspelmyer, the Lead Teacher of the Honors Forum, for more information. His email address is sauspelm@richland2.org. The Honors Forum is only an option for a student who is zoned to attend BHS.

Monday, January 6, 2020 - School-within-a-school (SWS) applications open online; you are able to begin submitting an application as early as January 6th.
Wednesday, March 25, 2020 - SWS applications closed online; no applications will be accepted after the March 25th deadline and the application link will be removed from this site at 12:00 am midnight (EST) on March 25th.
Monday, March 30-Friday, April 24, 2020 - SWS interviews/auditions will take place; once your application is received and processed, you will be notified of an interview/audition date and time. Interviews/auditions are scheduled based on the program's teachers and leaders, their flexibility, and grouping students together based on their application information. Please make every effort to adhere to interview time you are given and avoid having to reschedule unless it is a true emergency situation.
Monday, April 27, 2020 - SWS Notifications of acceptance/non-acceptance will be posted (further instruction will be given at student interview/audition time).
Monday, May 4, 2020 - SWS Responses to acceptance due back to program directors (further instruction will be given at student interview/audition time).

BMS Quiz Whiz Teams Wins the Richland Two Quiz Whiz Bowl Championship...
On Saturday, February 8,
2020, the Blythewood Middle School Quiz Bowl team, under the direction of Mrs.
Janie Hamrick and Mrs. Stephanie Turiak won the Richland Two Quiz Whiz Bowl
Championship. During the two-day
competition, which was held at R2i2, the students from Blythewood Middle School
went undefeated throughout the competition.
