Counselor's Corner

Counselor’s Corner

Every day we make decisions and when we have to make important decisions and/or are facing a problem, it is important for us to have these tools in our tool belt.  Last month our 8th grade students learned the steps of effective decision-making and problem solving during our classroom guidance lessons.  With time and practice your child can become an effective decision-maker and problem solver.
Steps to Effective Decision-Making
1)      What is the decision to be made?
2)      What are some of the possible choices?
3)      What are the possible outcomes after the decision is made?
4)      Make a decision.
5)      Evaluate the results and make a new decision if possible or necessary.
