During the 2016-2017 school year, Richland School District Two will undergo District Accreditation. As I am sure you know, accreditation is a big deal! The goal of district accreditation is to ensure that Richland School District Two and the schools therein maintain high standards of educational quality. As a parent, you have the opportunity to participate in the AdvancEd Parent Survey. You will find the link to this survey below. We ask that you take the time to complete this survey as it relates to your child’s school - Blythewood Middle School. Please note that you are able to complete the survey using your Smartphone. If you are in need of additional information regarding the AdvancEd Parent survey, please note that more information will be provided at our Open House on Tuesday, September 13th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Our goal is to have 100% of our parents participate in this survey.

For your convenience, there will be two sessions of Open House that our parents may attend. Parents, we hope that you will find having two sessions helpful. If you have two students at the school you can allocate time to attend sessions for both students and get all necessary information. Please note that individual teacher conferences will not be available at this time. This time has been set aside to get general information regarding classroom procedures and expectations from your child’s teachers. Individual conferences are able to be scheduled on the evening of Open House and will be held on September 22nd, our next Early Release day.
During our Open House event, pizza will be served for all of our parents and BMS students in attendance. Our 8th grade team will also host its 2nd annual "Pizza, PSAT & Planning" from 5:15 - 5:55 in the cafeteria. Eighth grade will then move into Session One of the Open House. During the 5:15 - 5:55 "Pizza, PSAT & Planning" information regarding the 8th grade field experience, 8th grade promotion, PSAT registration and other pertinent information will be discussed.
Session One: (6:00 - 7:00) - Parents will report to students’ homeroom
6:00 - 6:20 Welcome and overview of AdvancEd survey
6:20 - 6:40 Attendance Policy (Tardies, absences, HS credit courses, 0 Tardies goal

6:55 Dinner in BMS cafeteria; must have ticket from session.
**BMS students in attendance may report to the cafe where they will be supervised by our Charger Pride afterschool staff.**
Session Two: (7:00 - 8:00) - Parents will report to students’ homeroom
7:00 - 7:20 Welcome and overview of AdvancEd survey
7:20 - 7:40 Attendance Policy (Tardies, absences, HS credit courses, 0 Tardies goal)
