The Killian Transportation Department, is receiving an overwhelming amount of calls from parents stating they are not getting bus information during the morning and afternoon routes when the buses are running behind. In addition, BMS is collaborating with Lonnie B. Elementary to raise money for a new service dog by selling wristbands for $1. A total of $5,000 is needed to secure a successor dog for Roberta as she plans to retire after this school year. All funds raised go to Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services, the only Assistance Dog International accredited organization in our state. Please consider helping us raise the funds needed to continue Roberta's work for the children. A collection will be taken up during Wednesday, November 15th during morning arrival and during grade level lunches November 15th and 16th.
Finally, students received their Impact Aid form today. It is very important the form is completed, signed and dated. Impact Aid is a federal program governed by Federal Law & Regulations. The program was formed to help make up the lost local tax dollars to school districts imposed upon by federal property.
