6th and 7th grade Parents - Please Read for Monday 6/3/19...

A Dog’s Way Home
Movie Rating - PG

Blythewood Middle School is committed to educating the “Whole Child.”  As part of this commitment, our goal is to teach kindness, perseverance and other lifeskills daily, while at the same time, giving our students what they need academically.  On Monday, June 3, 2019, our 8th-grade students will be participating in 8th-grade promotion.  During this time, we will have lots of visitors on campus and our Enrichment teachers will be assisting with 8th-grade promotion.  Additionally, the gym will not be available during the time of promotion.   As a result, our 6th & 7th-grade students will remain in their homeroom class until the promotion ceremony is over.  During this time, we will show the movie, “ A Dog’s Way Home.”    There are several themes throughout this movie; however, a reoccurring theme is perseverance and kindness.

This movie was released in January 2019 and is named after the novel of the same title written by W. Bruce Cameron.  An overview of the movie can be found below:

As a puppy, Bella finds her way into the arms of Lucas, a young man who gives her a good home. When Bella becomes separated from Lucas, she soon finds herself on an epic 400-mile journey to reunite with her beloved owner. Along the way, the lost but spirited dog touches the lives of an orphaned mountain lion, a down-on-his-luck veteran and some friendly strangers who happen to cross her path.

All 6th & 7th-grade students will watch the movie with their homeroom class on Monday, June 3rd unless parents opt out.  If parents opt out and do not wish for your student to watch the movie, please fill out the information below and your child will be assigned an alternate assignment during the movie.

If you have any questions, please contact your grade level administrator or Mrs. Mazyck.

*Please fill out this form only if you desire for your child to opt out of watching the movie.  An alternate assignment will be provided.
