A Message from the Principal

Dear Charger Families,

As the flood waters begin to recede and we attempt to return to a sense of normalcy, we recognize that there are many needs that still exist within our school family, our community, and  our state.  No doubt, school is a place of teaching and learning; however, as we return to the walls of Blythewood Middle School, our goal is to be sensitive to the needs of our students, while at the same time continuing to ensure that teaching and learning takes place.  In the face of the catastrophic events that our community has recently experienced, we realize that experiential learning has certainly taken place and we know that experience is a good teacher!  We will take advantage of the teaching that has already taken place as a result of these events and continue to expand upon the learning that has surely occurred.

Over the next several days, weeks and months, our faculty and staff will be available to assist your student(s), as well as your family. Please feel free to contact the school if there are any needs that you and your family may have for which the school might be able to assist.  Our administrators, teachers, counselors, school psychologist, nurse and school social worker, as well as district office staff are all available to assist students that may just want a listening ear as they continue to sort out their feelings.  Additionally, many of our teachers, student organizations and our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) continue to look for ways that they can give back to our families and the community at large.  We are well aware that in order for students to perform at optimal levels, their basic needs must first be met - Blythewood Middle wants to help in any way that we can.

Finally, we have added to our blog, as well as to our school webpage, various sites and resources that may be of assistance to you and your family, as well as others that may need to know where to turn during this time of rebuilding and restoration. Please click below for additional resources:
