Middle School Career Development, it’s never too early to plan!

This fall has been devoted to career exploration beginning with BMS Career Day in September followed by career guidance classroom sessions for all 6^th and 7^th graders. Students were administered career interest inventories using the SCCIS web site. Students then investigated careers of interest based on their assessment results. This lays the foundation to prepare students for choosing a career cluster and major program of study for high school.  8^th graders will have their sessions in the winter/spring prior to IGP conferences to help prepare them for this important event. The theme for the Guidance Department in November was Goal Setting, also a crucial component to career development and planning.
