BMS Library News

BMS Library News

As we approach the end of the school year, the BMS library staff would like to remind parents and students to pay lost books and overdue book fines before the end of the year.  Overdue book and fine notices are emailed to students automatically every Monday through Destiny Quest to his/her school Gmail account. The BMS library staff has also sent emails directly to parents about lost books regularly this school year.

Please remind your student to check their email account and library account on Destiny Quest to see if they have any overdue books or lost books.  Here are directions on how to log into to Destiny Quest.

The procedure for lost books is to pay the replacement cost for the book(s) directly to the media center during the current school year.  Any lost book fees that go unpaid at the end of the current school year are transferred over to our district school fee system.

Please email Mrs. Swetnam, lswetnam@richland2.org if you have questions.

Rising 6th grade ~ BMS Pathways to Success Night

Blythewood Middle School is having their annual BMS Pathways to Success on Tuesday, April 19th at 6:00PM, beginning in the school gym. The previous orientation in January provided information for those families considering expanded choice, while this program will be focusing on making a successful transition for those students and their parents who will be attending Blythewood Middle this fall.  You will learn about summer opportunities like the BMS JumpStart Camp, BMS Charger Pride Summer Enrichment and afterschool program, receive information about the summer reading activity, the 6th grade supply list, and information about enrichment offerings.  Additionally, you will find out what Charger Kick-Off is all about and how you can receive information and keep in touch.

The evening provides an opportunity to visit the 6th grade area classrooms and meet the teachers. Our goal is to provide tools for a smooth transition from elementary school to the middle school.  We are looking forward to meeting and working with you soon.
